CLINIC - TAG in Pleasant Grove

A great example of a great place, a great bunch of kids who love soccer - and precious few places to play.

The Talented and Gifted School in Pleasant Grove (part of the Dallas ISD) has five soccer teams ranging from u-10 to u-14. They have a great place to practice (a bit small, but a nice field), but find it difficult to play matches. Like a lot of underserved areas, recreational leagues have mostly disappeared in Pleasant Grove.

Luckily they have Ana Sepulveda and a staff of dedicated volunteer coaches. Ana and a few others actively go out and find leagues or matches for the kids.

To kick off their fall season, Ana asked us to run a one-day clinic. We were lucky to pick the first day where the brutal summer heat relented. So 60 good kids learned a few things and got a good, happy morning of an organized soccer training session run by four of our coaches.
