Doing even more for an underserved community

More camps! … And more ways to provide positive, athletic programming
We hope to continue creating programs and initiatives that replicate some of the support mechanisms available to young athletes in more affluent areas. For instance, we are studying the feasibility of a youth sports strength and conditioning program that serves all young athletes - not just soccer players. Wouldn’t it be great if young athletes from under-served areas get the same access to strength and nutrition education that’s so accessible in other areas?
These would not be soccer-specific; rather, they would help young athletes (starting at approximately 9 years of age, up through high school) with beneficial instruction and tutored activity on elements of strength, balance, coordination, range of motion and flexibility.
Like soccer camps, these programs are widely available via group or individual basis in areas north of Pleasant Grove, and in outer ring suburbs. More to the point, the coaching and programming is available to those who can afford it.
A nutritional component would be attached; childhood obesity rates are higher in low-income areas.
Along with the nutritional element, an educational / scholastic element will be attached, most likely within the "screening" component.
