Samuell Spartan summer camp; this is what we do!

This was our big one for the summer.

And it was fantastic. Great group of kids. A great staff (pictured on the previous page). Wonderful partnerships, like the Dallas Police coming out one day to cook for everyone after camp. A great facility, at WW Samuell High School. Truly, a shining example of what our nonprofit is trying to do.

Which is truly gratifying, because while we’ve branched out in several ways, this was the original model. This was the starting point, the template we wanted to create all along. (Before we understood there was such a need for SO MANY other elements that can help create a better youth soccer scene in Pleasant Grove.)

We had 52 kids come out for a week of soccer. Fun games, skills training, teaching a few important tactical elements, introductions to functional movement training - all for $25 for the entire week.

The same camp would cost $200-300 in other parts of town. But this is the whole idea: eliminating the barriers that prevent underserved communities from accessing high-level soccer opportunities.

It was a great camp, with great coaches and truly super kids who were enthusiastic about it all from the jump.
